Oakey212
Made from solid oak boards reclaimed from the ¾” extensions of a vintage dining room table. Open back design with two 12” Guitar Warehouse Speakers (WGS), one vintage American and one vintage British. Best of both worlds. Speakers are mounted to a ½” baltic birch baffle. Cabinet is made as small as possible for portability and has a rear switch plate that allows 4 ohm, 16 ohm and 8 ohm stereo amplifier inputs. Weighs in at about 36lbs. Corners are glued mitre cuts with internal cleats. Oak cleats are used to mount the back panels as well as the speaker baffle. All wood used (except for the speaker baffle) was cut from the three oak table extensions. The original table finish was kept for the Oakey 212 finish with the cut ends finished with a dark gel stain. The entire cabinet was oiled with an orange furniture oil. Notice the table extension pegs are still part of the cabinet showing on the end cuts. Pretty cool part of the cabinet history and patina.
